If You Are A Suspect, Never Talk to the Police. St. Paul Criminal Defense. - Video
Watch Jack’s Appearance on Court TV
Jack Rice appeared on Court TV to discuss a double homicide case and what happens when a suspect sits down with a police officer. Let’s just say that it doesn’t end well.
Police officers are highly trained in interrogations. This means that you may not even realize that you are being played until after it is over. Along the way, they will lie to you, tell you stories, change their stories, tell you things they have that they don't and even tell you told them things that you never did. They are actually trained to do this.
If you are a suspect in a crime or even if the police just want to talk, you need a criminal defense attorney at your side. The police frequently are playing the long game. They are trying to lock in a story so they can then start picking that story apart. It also locks a suspect into that story when nobody, including the police themselves, do not have the facts. Generally speaking, nothing good comes from that.
